 Kiowa Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program (KADAP) Resource Information

 Philosophy Statement:  We believe addiction is a primary, progressive, chronic, and potentially fatal disease.  We are committed to recognize, treat, and prevent substance abuse or dependence, as well as to preserve individuality based on self-esteem, self-image, and self-worth.  We hope to pass on to others that they too can achieve a clean and sober life by taking responsibility and action to rebuild their lives.

 10-County Service Area:  Kiowa, Caddo, Canadian, Comanche, Cotton, Custer, Grady, Jackson, Tillman, and Washita counties.  We give top priority to Kiowa tribal members, but have continually served those of other federally recognized Native American tribes.  However, our A. A. meetings welcome those of other races, the Anadarko Community and surrounding area.  Sometimes, we have gone beyond our service area to serve tribal members in other counties and will continue to do so, if necessary.

 Eligibility Requirements:

1.  No age limit;

2.  Must be an enrolled member of the Kiowa Tribe or other federally recognized tribe;

3.  Must reside within the 10-county service area;

4.  Must have a substance abuse problem or know someone who needs help.

 Services:  Individual & Family Counseling; outreach services; alcohol & drug education; prevention activities for youth and adults; court-ordered assessments; court intervention; aftercare services; daily    A.A. group meetings (9:30-10:30 a.m.); and referrals.  KADAP also hosts youth and adult activities toward alcohol & drug prevention.

 KADAP also offers White Bison teaching and offers other classes at other times of the year.  Some of the classes we have hosted in the past include parenthood training, anger management, and life skills.
