This form has been developed to facilitate the collection of resolutions for potential discussion at the upcoming Annual Meeting of the Council on the first Saturday in April, as outlined in Article V, Section 4(a) of the Constitution of the Kiowa Tribe (pg. 4). The 'Resolution Submittals for the upcoming 2026 Annual Meeting of the KIC' form aims to systematically gather resolutions intended for possible presentation at the upcoming Annual Meeting of the Kiowa Indian Council (KIC). As of January 2026, submitting a resolution via this form does not guarantee its inclusion on the agenda for the Annual Meeting.
It is important to clarify that the intent of this process is not to impede the scheduling or conduct of an Annual Meeting. Instead, the objective is to ensure that resolutions are appropriately considered and, when relevant, formally added to the meeting agenda for discussion, voting, and potential inclusion on the ballot in a subsequent Special Election. Resolutions will be considered for inclusion on the agenda based on their relevance to the tribe and their alignment with the Constitution of the Kiowa Tribe. Contested resolutions will be reviewed and addressed through the appropriate mechanisms. Submissions through the 'Resolution Submittals for the upcoming 2026 Annual Meeting of the KIC' process will be documented, time-stamped, and archived to ensure proper record-keeping for future consideration at the Annual Meeting. Individuals are encouraged to submit resolutions they want included on the agenda for the forthcoming meeting using this platform.
The purpose of this form is to maintain an organized and timely record of all resolutions received at least 45 days before the anticipated meeting date. Planning is underway for the Constitutionally mandated Annual meeting on the first Saturday in April, which is calendared as April 4, 2026. Submissions are strongly encouraged by 5 p.m. CST on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. After this deadline, the form will be closed, and late submissions will not be accepted. This deadline is established to ensure that resolutions are submitted in a timely manner and to allow for proper review and consideration.
When submitting a resolution, please provide a concise title that avoids using symbols or numeric characters. For example, use a format like "KIC Policy and Procedures" rather than including extraneous punctuation or numbers in the title. Additionally, NO Resolutions will be accepted via email that are not completed through this questionnaire. Unless without access to a computer, please mail your resolutions to the Kiowa Tribe P.O. Box 369 Carnegie, OK 73015 addressed to “Attention KIC Coordinator” as soon as possible by the Deadline date.
