The Kiowa Tribe partnered with the Carnegie Schools for another successful Rock Your Mocs (RYM) event held at Hoop City in Carnegie, Oklahoma. The program featured a representation of the various Tribes that attend the school along with their different styles of dance.

This annual event continues to grow every year and is a special part of Native American Heritage Month. Manny "The Dragon" Muro, Professional MMA fighter and athlete, was selected as the keynote and delivered an inspiring speech to the students. “I am not here to impress you; but to inspire you, because you can be anyone that you want to be if you put in the hard work,” he stated. Muro is a Class of 2005 Carnegie graduate and was part of the Kiowa summer youth program (SYSP).

Special ‘Thank you’ to the Kiowa Chairman and Vice-Chairman, Lawrence SpottedBird & Jacob Tsotigh, Kiowa District 2 Legislator, Mike Primus, Apache Tribal Chairman, Durell Cooper III, and sponsors for their endless support. We especially thank the princesses, singers, dancers, & Kiowa Women Warriors for their participation in making the RYM successful.
